Ollie started his dance training at Dance East CAT Scheme in Suffolk (England) at the age of 12, where he worked with guest choreographers such as New Adventures ReBourne, Gecko and James Wilton Dance. At Nothern School, Ollie worked with choreographers such as Sharon Watson, Alleyne Dance and Anton Lachky, before Graduating with a First Class Hons Degree. While working towards a Postgraduate Masters through London Contemporary Dance School, Ollie danced as an apprentice dancer with James Wilton Dance. During this 10-month placement he performed two existing works ‘LEVIATHAN’ and ‘The Storm,’ both nationally and internationally, whilst teaching workshops on behalf of the company.
Ollie has continued dancing professionally for James Wilton Dance Company, creating two new works; ‘iRobot’ which will be touring from 2021-22, and ‘The Four Seasons’ which will begin touring in 2022. Ollie performed a UK tour of iRobot during the summer of 2021 and has taught workshops to university and conservatoire students, including a week intensive at Creative Academy, where he choreographed a piece for their graduation performance. Ollie has also collaborated with fashion labels such as Craig Green in 2020 and painters/artists such as Carl Chapple in 2021.
For his dance, Ollie takes inspirations from martial art styles such as capoeira, and gymnastic influences such as tricking and flips, whilst maintaining a strong contemporary technique, often including floorwork.
