Lewis began his journey into dance as a young teenager with capoeira and breakdancing. Aged 18, he went on to train more formally at London Contemporary Dance School. Lewis graduated in 2009, and has since worked as a performer with choreographers and companies including; Tom Dale Company, TrashDollys, Jean Abreu Dance, Léa Tirabasso, Riccardo Buscarini, Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, Richard Alston, The National Theatre for Angels in America directed by Marianne Elliot, and Scottish Dance Theatre.

Lewis began teaching in 2014, specialising in Contact improvisation and Contemporary Dance for open level and professional classes in the UK and abroad. He has recently taught for DV8 Physical Theatre and regularly teaches on the degree programmes at London Contemporary, London Studio Centre, and Rambert School. Lewis has also taught at European festivals including Pyrenees Dance, Agitart Figueres Es Mou, and B12 Berlin.
