The third annual Brighton & Hove Summer Dance Intensive presented by Smikle Dance Project. An opportunity for aspiring young dancers to develop their dance technique whilst deepening their creative, choreographic and performance skills in a nurturing and fun environment.

This five-day course allows dancers to explore, play and fully immerse themselves in a challenging and creative environment. Participants will experience inspiring classes throughout, led by current professional dance teachers, choreographers and companies from the dance industry.  Curated by artistic director and mentor, Lee Smikle and inspired by his practice developed over twenty five years of working alongside young dancers, companies and organisations like Matthew Bourne's New Adventures, National Dance Centre for Advanced Training( CAT), Sadlers Wells, Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Dance and Shoreditch Youth Dance Company.

A wonderful opportunity for curious and creative young people living in Brighton & Hove to take part in an inspiring week of movement, creativity and performance on our Easter Dance & Choreography Course 2020.

Each day will start with a movement warm up and lots of games followed by a fun day of developing your own movement, characters and stories, leading towards a small devised performance piece to be shared at the end of the week to family and friends.

The course will be led by Lee Smikle, guest professional artists and alumni from SYD Company (Shoreditch Youth Dance).

For young people with a passion and interest in performance and storytelling or a curiosity and energy to try something new. Suitable for both boys and girls aged 10 - 17 years old.
